Tim's photoblog of the summer of 2011 in Islamorada, FL.
Here is the snapper feeding on the parasites of the Sargassum grass.
Waiting for the ladder on the boat, the yellowtail snapper got very close. This one is only about 8 inches from me.
Here is a close up of his head. His head is about the same size as mine. Coolest creature I have ever seen.
Another sea turtle. This one is prehistoric and almost as big as I am. Notice the barnacles living on it’s shell.
Another cool shot of the turtle.
A green sea turtle about 2 feet away from me. Small lil thing. Only about 2 feet big.
A school of Blue Tang feeding on the coral. I scared them away though, so you can’t see them feeding.
This 4 foot barracuda got a lil too curious of my camera. After I took this he got within about a foot of me.
A whole school of sergeant major.
I had this scout, who was deathly afraid of snorkeling, and after about an hour, I had him diving down to the bottom, checking under rocks for lobster and nurse shark.
